Those Dancing Days

Those Dancing Days are an indie pop band from Nacka, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden. Most notably compared to Northern Soul and 1960s era girl-groups, the band formed in 2005 while the members were all still in school. They are currently signed to Wichita Recordings. The band consists of five young girls from Stockholm. Their name derives from the Led Zeppelin song "Dancing Days".

Two of the band members completed school as late as summer 200 and they received a lot of publicity during 2007 including being featured in NME and on MTV2. They were also nominated for the Best Swedish Act prize at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2007. The band has played many gigs in their native Sweden as well as in the United Kingdom and Germany.

They released a 5-track EP in Sweden before being signed by UK label Wichita Recordings, who released a self-titled single in October 2007 (described as "Blondie backed by the Attractions", and "The Slits rehearsing with Bow Wow Wow whilst breaking in a new drummer"), with a second single, "Hitten". Their debut full length album In Our Space Hero Suits was released on October 6th 2008, preceded by a single Home Sweet Home on September 29th.

LMFAO is an electro-hop group from the Central Coast that consists of DJ/rappers Redfoo (Stephen Kendal Gordy) and Sky Blu (Skyler Gordy) (Uncle and Nephew respectively). The group's name comes from a text message Sky Blu received from his grandmother. LMFAO is currently signed to Interscope Records.They have a single titled "I'm in Miami Bitch" (alternate title "I'm In Miami Trick") which peaked at #51 on the Billboard Hot 100. On July 1, 2008, LMFAO released Party Rock EP on the iTunes music store. Their full album Party Rock leaked on June 23, 2009, containing 15 tracks, only 5 of which were unheard. The Norwegian duo Erlend Øye and Eirik Boe Glambek announced the launch of the next album Kings of Convenience.

The new work of the double to leave on October 20 entitled "Declaration of Dependence."

One Night Only

Having planted seeds of intrigue in minds of the indie crew, through a tour in support of The Pigeon Detectives, North East foragers One Night Only seek to harvest the fruits of this interest through their ten track debut album of disco tainted, melody based and life assessing indie. Signs are appearing to indicate that they could become 2008’s Air Traffic. In the sense that they do enough to build upon and wander off from, their aching, melodic indie grind of a foundation. With the use of climbing keyboards akin to Duke Special in ‘It’s About Time’ and ‘You and Me’, demonstrating such adventure. Also, some funky Style Council flavour brass emboldens the range, stopping the quintet from sinking into a wound licking, complaint-heavy rut.

A brittle and twining Billy Bragg flavoured intro’ gives ‘He’s There’ some spice and broadness, allowing George Craig to give his vocals a hurried, slightly frantic nudge to draw out paranoia and jealousy. Given the range, pitch and cohesion on offer, even the customary pleading plunge, ‘Time’ retains some freshness and its bleeding heart nature is communicated with an earthy friendliness. The cheese factor nearly gets toppled through ‘Sweet Sugar’, but set against the rest of the climbing explorative releases, it just adds to the completeness of a debut album that will stay on play lists longer than many this year. The sold out signs are going up at several venues on their biggest headline tour to date this January through to March. One Night Only could make these months the winter of melodic discontent.

Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, (born January 30, 1984) better known by his stage name Kid Cudi (pronounced /ˈkɪd.kʌdɪ/), is an American rapper and actor. He first gained major attention after the release of his debut mixtape A Kid Named Cudi.
The album's first single is Day 'N' Nite, and is Kid Cudi's greatest commercial success, the song charting well both in the USA and in Europe. 3OH!3 (pronounced "three oh three") is an American hip hop/electronica band from Boulder, Colorado. The band is named after the 303 area code, which covers Boulder, Aurora, and the Denver metropolitan area.
3OH!3's song "Don't Trust Me" became a hit in the U.S. in early 2009, peaking at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 2008, "Don't Trust Me" was featured on two separate episodes of The Hills, and they performed "Don't Trust Me" on Last Call with Carson Daly on November 13.[citation needed]

The reunion of the third season of the show The Bad Girls Club featured the song "Holler Til You Pass Out" as one of the original "Bad Girls" walked on to the set.

The band has done remixes of various songs from other artists, the most popular being "I'm Good, I'm Gone", which was originally by Swedish pop singer Lykke Li.

Want is the name of the second album by Colorado hip-hop/electronica band 3OH!3. It is their first album with record label Photo Finish. The album was produced by award-winning producer Matt Squire (Boys Like Girls, Panic at the Disco, The Maine). Songs from the album were played at the annual Bamboozle music festival in 2008. The track "Punkbitch" was included on the Warped Tour 2008 Tour Compilation.

The first single from the album is "Don't Trust Me" which is a huge success. In an interview, 3oh!3 announced that filming for their next single, "Starstrukk" had been completed and would be released in the upcoming month.

The alchemy of rock n’ roll, be it classic, alternative, punk, prog --choose your (excuse the expression) poison – is a great song delivered by ecstatic performers and the effect that combination has on the fan. When you listen to tracks like the New York Dolls’ infused “Sweet , Gone, Saturday’s Child," mature, introspective ballads like “Another Lonely Start,” and "4 Leaf Clover," the Yardbirds-esque "Dirty Bomb," or the Alice Cooper bludgeoned angst anthem, “Falling in Love with a Higher Power,” ... any listener worth his musicological salt will be taken aback by Billy Boy’s obvious reverence for the masters. But it’s how they interpret and re-imagine what was into what is that sets them apart from the umpteen other teens desperately searching for the brave new groove.

Chester French

Named for Lincoln Memorial sculptor Daniel Chester French, the L.A. via Boston duo Chester French -- consisting of vocalist/songwriter D.A. Wallach and multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Maxwell Drummey -- mix classic songcraft and power pop hooks with arrangements and beats that nod to synth pop and rap. Originally from Boston, Drummey began music lessons when he was three, moving from classical piano to jazz guitar to jazz and classical composition when he was in high school; however, Wallach, a Milwaukee, WI, native, dabbled in comedy, politics, magic, and drumming before settling on singing in his teens. The pair met in 2003 as freshmen at Harvard and began playing in a five-piece version of Chester French at local bars. After winning a battle of the bands, the group recorded its debut EP, Chester French's First Love, in two days at Harvard's on-campus recording studio, Quad Sound Studios. Wallach and Drummey were so intrigued by the recording process that they became engineers at Quad Sound, and as they worked on their degrees and their first album, they paid for their recording by engineering sessions for other artists. Drummey and Wallach completed the album Love the Future in spring 2007, when they also graduated from Harvard. Their recordings attracted attention from Kanye West and Jimmy Iovine, among others, but the Neptunes' Pharrell ended up signing Chester French to his Star Trak imprint, which released the She Loves Everybody EP via iTunes late in 2008. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide.

The Kooks
