Hyper Crush is here. Straight out of Los Angeles via time travel, the three shit-faced extra terrestrials that make up the group are known simply as Donny, Preston, and Holly. Armed with fresh rhymes, funky beats, and enough neon to make you wear shades, these three will get you on the dance floor and moving. On May 1 the group released the party anthem of all time, 'The Arcade.' This monstrous album features 13 tracks of pure electro power. Hyper Crush seems to have the 'rap game on constant chokehold status with songs like 'Sex and Drugs' and 'Disco Tech.' It seems to be that once these three mad geniuses set their minds to ruling the universe at large, there is nothing standing in their way.

Richard Melville Hall, also known as Moby is an American DJ, songwriter, musician and singer.
Moby used to be in a punk band called the Vatican Commandos, which was formed in 1980, but abandoned punk in 1989 for electronic music. He realized his music tastes and growth were going in a different direction than his previous bands.
His first album “The Story So Far (aka Moby)” featured the single “Go”, which gained popularity in many discos, and earned a spot on the UK charts. The song is so popular that Moby still plays “Go” regularly in his sets. “Go” is a progressive track using the string line from “Laura Palmer’s Theme” from the TV drama Twin Peaks. He plays keyboard, guitar, bass guitar and drums. After eight top 40 singles in the UK in the 1990s he released the album Play, in 1999, which sold 9 million copies worldwide. His follow up albums, 18, Hotel, and Last Night sold 6 million copies and have achieved gold and platinum status in over 30 countries.
Mute released Moby’s eighth studio album, ‘Last Night’ on March 31st, following the recently released first single ‘Alice’ and the just-released second single ‘Disco Lies’.

The Like formed in 2001 in Los Angeles, when best friends Charlotte Froom and Tennessee Jane Bunny Thomas met Z Berg and found the voice and songs they had been looking for. Almost immediately, the ladies began to garner local praise and attention, surprising their audiences with a complexity belying their very young years (two 15 year olds and a 16 year old at the time).
The Like transcend all the easy labels that one may be inclined to attach to them: all girl band, teenage band, LA band, etc. They simply write beautiful music, and possess an irresistible collective personality.

Vampire Weekend is an indie rock band from New York City, formed in 2006. Vampire Weekend came to public attention via a variety of blogs, first on the African music audioblog "Benn loxo du taccu", and then six months later on Stereogum, leading many to cite them as another example of the "blog band" phenomenon. The band is influenced by both African popular music and Western classical music. The band takes its name from a film they made together with members of the band Ra Ra Riot entitled Vampire Weekend. The film told the story of a boy named Walcott charged by an elder to dispatch a vampiric horde in Cape Cod and escape. The song "Walcott" from their debut album details the plot of the film. In 2007, their hit "Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa" was ranked 67th on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of the year as they toured the United Kingdom with The Shins. They were declared "The Year's Best New Band" in the March 2008 issue of Spin magazine and were the first band to ever be shot for the cover of the magazine before releasing their debut CD. Thieves Like Us are a Swedish American trio based in NYC. With a true charm, they developed a fresh, romantic aesthetic between a pop, funky, similar Hot Chip and the German Krautrock scene. As all parties seemed to be mainly soundtracked by electro and techno, they began to DJ, playing old Krautrock, Italo Disco, David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Factory Records stuff, and even new hip-hop. Later on they discovered French filter house and added this to their repertoire.

Kid Sister is Chicago. She makes rap music and works at a children’s clothing store slanging bibs and teething rings. Yes, her hype man J2K of Flosstradamus is her real brother, and yes that does rule. Together they took the Chi-town music scene by storm, rocking parties and causing all around dancefloor mayhem. This was followed by tours with Kanye West’s DJ A-Trak (one of her main producers and co-owner of Fool’s Gold Records). 2006 found Kid Sister selling-out shows from Chicago to Paris, including an appearance at the Pitchfork Music Festival. The media responded favorably, with features on MTV (“My Block”), Pitchfork, i-D Magazine, XLR8R, the New York Times, Billboard and the cover of URB’s “Next 1000” issue, among others.
Building on the strength of this early buzz, Kid Sister hit the studio and released two singles on Fool’s Gold (“Control” and “Pro Nails”). Frequent international touring followed throughout 2007, including an appearance at Coachella, a sold out show at SXSW, and a full US tour with her fellow labelmates. Kanye West also took notice, adding a verse to her “Pro Nails” single (which he released on his “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” mixtape) and appearing in the music video, which quickly became an MTV favorite.

You know Lykke Li? Her name is Li Lykke Timotej Zachrisson, she is twenty-two years old, and her debut four-song EP, Little ... (more) Bit, out on her own label LL Recordings on May 6th, 2008, is an amazing introduction to an artist whose name we're pretty sure you'll be hearing all year long.
She was raised by artistic parents (her mother was a photographer, her father is a musician) and lived in Portugal for five years, and spent winters in Nepal and India. At one point, she worked as a dancer on Swedish TV shows.
She released her first album, Youth Novels on LL Recordings in the Nordic region on 4 February 2008 and it will receive a wider European release this June. The album was produced by Björn Yttling of Peter Bjorn and John and Lasse Mårtén. It was released in the United States on 6 May 2008 (Today).
She had some success with the EP “Little Bit” in 2007. Stereogum named her an artist to watch in October 2007 and described her music as a mix of soul, electro and powdered-sugar pop.

VHS or Beta is a band from Louisville, Kentucky, that combines elements of rock, French house and dance-punk. Their self-released debut Le Funk found some success on the charts, but the band became better known in the wake of their 2004 release Night on Fire. In early 2007, after two and half years of touring, the band made the trek to remote Asheville, NC to record 2007's Bring on the Comets. Released in August of 2007 Bring On The Comets marked a slight change in direction towards a more straightforward pop sound; all this was achieved without sacrificing the band's trademark dance sensibility. The band's core members are guitarist/vocalist Craig Pfunder, bassist Mark Palgy, and drummer Mark Guidry. Chea Beckley has supported the band on keyboard on tour since the late 90's. Mike McGill was enlisted to play guitar on tour after Zeke Buck was kicked out of the band in 2006. In 2005 the band opened for Duran Duran on a leg of their North American tour.
